Green makes 21 saves as Spruce Kings shutout Eagles
PRINCE GEORGE — Ryder Green made 21 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Prince George Spruce Kings blanked the Surrey Eagles 3-0 Friday (Feb. 27) night at Kopar Memorial Arena.
The Spruce Kings (28-14-2-0) scored a goal in each period on their way to their third win in a row. They remain atop the BCHL’s Coastal East Division, five points ahead of second place Coquitlam (25-16-2-1).
Mason Loewen got the Spruce Kings on the board at 5:15 of the opening frame after he fired a quick wrister past Surrey’s Brady Smith, who finished with 37 saves on 40 shots.
Lucas Busch doubled Prince George’s lead with a power play goal at 12:23 of the second frame, while Spencer Masters rounded out the scoring at 10:59 of the third period.
