RCMP investigating unfounded threats at high school in Vanderhoof
VANDERHOOF — On Sunday, Vanderhoof RCMP received a report of possible threats to Nechako Valley Secondary School.
RCMP are investigating the threats but at this stage of the investigation, they have no information to suggest the threats are credible.
Out of an abundance of caution, Vanderhoof RCMP have increased patrols in the area of the school. These additional patrols are intended to provide visibility and reassurance to students, staff, and the wider community.
“At this time, we do not believe there is any risk to the public or to those within the school,” said Cpl. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson. “We understand that these types of reports can cause concern for parents and the community, and we want to reassure everyone that we are actively investigating and will continue to maintain a presence around the school.”
