British Columbia’s teachers’ union says its members have ratified a new four-year collective agreement, covering 52,000 educators in the province. The B.C. Teachers’ Federation says its members voted 91 per cent in favour of the agreement that gives them a three per cent wage increase per year for four years. Plus, recruitment of health care professionals is always a challenge, more so in rural and remote communities. Now Northern Health has a tool in their tool kit to attract nurses to some of its smaller communities, even if it’s temporarily. And, work is supposed to be underway at the Prince George Aquatic Centre to complete upgrades and maintenance, but there have been rumours swirling that work hasn’t actually started yet.
