Rebuilding begins after the November fire levels Nukko Lake Community Hall

PRINCE GEORGE – Early on November 6th, a fire destroyed the Nukko Lake Community Hall, which was at the heart of this rural community. Many residents are heartbroken, since the hall hosted weddings, dances, and holiday events. Regional District Director Victor Mobley said that plans to rebuild are already in motion. The disaster happened less than six months ago, and the hall was a place where people gathered to celebrate together.

​This past weekend, residents met to discuss their concerns and to get more information about insurance and how rebuilding will proceed.

​Mobley assured everyone that the hall was fully insured and that assessments are underway to figure out how much rebuilding will cost.

​While rebuilding is only beginning, many people have stressed how important the Nukko Lake Community Hall was for bringing everyone together, especially after the fire.
