PRNICE GEORGE – Conservative Party of BC leadership hopeful Darrell Jones visited Prince George today (March 11).

Jones was here listening to what the membership had to say. And he acknowledges the concerns locally are different from the southern membership.

“That’s another one we’re going to have to bridge because those issues are vastly different,” he explains. “The challenges that we face here are different than the ones you face in the Lower Mainland, or as you say, the other side of Hope.”

And he explains why he has what it takes to head the BC Conservatives.

“I am a huge believer in people. People are the greatest asset that this province has, and this country has. And we have to have a government that’s going to focus on the people, not on ideology, not on politics, but on the needs of the people. Now, why did I step into politics?

“I started as a grocery clerk in Cranbrook bagging groceries, and I was able to move my way from that through 23 stores to being the president of the company for 13 years. And we turned it into a multibillion dollar company. So I have a business background that’s maybe not totally unique, but not a lot of people in politics have that kind of a background.”
