PRINCE GEORGE – A new fundraiser in Prince George is showcasing the powerful impact of community support and social media on hospice care. Recently, the Prince George Hospice House held its inaugural 12-hour online telethon. Local businesses, media outlets, and residents came together to raise funds for hospice services.

The event ran from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., capturing the spirit of classic TV telethons but with a modern digital twist. Throughout the day, radio stations, community groups, and various businesses shared heartfelt stories online, encouraging the community to contribute.

Organizers proudly announced the fundraiser was a resounding success, meeting its $50,000 goal. This vital funding will help cover the $50-a-day provincial fee for patients who cannot afford it, ensuring that everyone has access to hospice care when they need it most.
