Dodgeball Championship raises nearly $10K for cancer patients

PRINCE GEORGE — The 2026 Dodgeball Championship presented by Central Liquor Store raised nearly $10,000 for cancer patients at Kordyban Lodge through the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

The event brought together local businesses, community champions, and Prince George Cougars fans, raising $9,895.

Kordyban Lodge provides a home away from home for individuals facing cancer, whether they are staying for a few days or several months, easing the burden of treatment with comfort, care, and community.

Funds raised will support essential needs including medical equipment, wheelchairs, walkers, and even a new concrete walkway to improve accessibility for patients.

The event was powered by strong community support. Central Builders PG, Cycle North Powersports, Finning, and Inland Truck & Equipment each donated $1,000 and brought teams to the ice, with 10th on Central Liquor Store matching those contributions for a total of $8,000. Additional funds were raised through chuck a puck and tap donations throughout the night.

Central Builders claimed the inaugural Dodgeball Championship Trophy after defeating Finning.
