Special weather statement issued for Pine Pass, Peace region with ‘moderate to heavy snow’ expected
PRINCE GEORGE — Old Man Winter isn’t quite ready to let go his grip across parts of northern British Columbia.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement on Highway 97 through the Pine Pass and in the peace river region, with moderate to heavy snowfall expected on Monday (April 6) into Tuesday morning.
“A frontal system crossing northern B.C. on Monday will bring heavy snow to the region,” the weather agency said. “Precipitation may begin as rain earlier in the day before transitioning to snow as the cold front passes on Monday evening.”
“Driving conditions and visibilities will deteriorate quickly with the passage of the cold front as snowfall rates are expected to peak with up to 4 cm per hour.”
