Defender commits to Green and Gold

PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team has announced the commitment of Vesna Mackillop from Victoria.

The 5’7” defender will soon graduate from Oak Bay Secondary School and played for Lakehill FC in the Lower Island Premier League.

“I’m very vocal. I like playing through balls and I’m very physical on the field,” said Mackillop who plans to study Nursing at UNBC come the fall. 

Mackillop’s familiarity with Sedgwick both from the Island and from UNBC visits also heavily swayed her decision. She added, “I think he’s a good technical coach. He breaks down things well and in a way that I can understand.”
