Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with a performance by the Prince George Community Band.

Official opening ceremonies are scheduled for noon and will include participation from Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Elder Darlene McIntosh and Chief Dolleen Logan.

Live music, cultural performances and dance acts are expected to continue throughout the afternoon at the park’s bandshell, with programming running until 6 p.m. Organizers say a full entertainment schedule is available on the City’s website.

Transportation and Accessibility

To help reduce congestion around the park, the City is once again encouraging residents to use a free accessible shuttle service.

The shuttle will operate every 30 minutes between the Civic Centre parking lot and the park entrance at 17th Avenue and Taylor Drive, running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free parking will also be available at City Hall and the Civic Centre lot.

Cyclists will have access to a free bike valet service in downtown Prince George. The service allows attendees to securely store their bicycles while attending the event and will be located behind the bandshell at the Downtown Prince George tent.

Organizers are encouraging residents to plan ahead and take advantage of transportation options to fully enjoy the day’s activities.
