PRINCE GEORGE – According to Prince George RCMP, two young people acted quickly and helped officers move forward with an investigation into an alleged indecent act last week.

Just before 2 p.m. on June 19, 2026, police received a call from two youths who reported an indecent act involving a man they did not know. The youths were not hurt, but the incident left them shaken, so they called 911 right away.

Police said the two gave a detailed description of the suspect and told officers which way he went. Thanks to their quick call and clear information, police found a man not far from the scene and arrested him soon after.

Corporal Jennifer Cooper said this case shows how important it is for investigators to get timely and accurate reports.

“Investigators are sharing this incident because it shows how quick and detailed reporting can shape a police investigation,” she said. “We know that sometimes victims or witnesses cannot report right away, but the sooner an event is reported, the better the chances of catching a suspect or preserving evidence.”

The suspect has been released with certain conditions. The two youths are getting support from the RCMP Victim Services Unit while the investigation continues.
