PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves have released their 2026–27 Canada West basketball schedules, with both the men’s and women’s programs set to host nine home games each at the Northern Sport Centre in a 20-game conference season.

Men’s Team Opens at Home, Faces Early Road Test

Long-time head coach Todd Jordan’s men’s squad tips off its campaign on Saturday, October 24, hosting Thompson Rivers University (TRU).

UNBC will then embark on a challenging early-season road stretch, traveling to UBC Okanagan, the University of Victoria, UBC, and the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). The team returns home in November for matchups against Trinity Western University (TWU) and Victoria.

A Prairie road swing highlights the late-November schedule, with back-to-back games in Lethbridge against the Pronghorns on November 27 and 28. The Timberwolves will close out the 2026 portion of their schedule at home against UFV on December 4 and 5.

Following the holiday break, conference play resumes in Kamloops with two games against TRU. UNBC then returns home for crucial late-season contests against UBC Okanagan and UBC. The regular season wraps up February 6 against the Thunderbirds, with playoff positioning expected to be on the line.

Women’s Team Also Opens at Home

The Timberwolves women’s team, led by head coach Sergey Shchepotkin, will also open its season at home on October 24 against TRU.

After the opener, the women will mirror the men’s early-season travel, heading through the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, and the Lower Mainland before returning home for key November matchups against TWU (November 19) and Victoria (November 21).

The team closes November with a trip to Lethbridge for a pair of games against the Pronghorns.

In the second half, UNBC hosts UFV in early December, UBC Okanagan in late January, and UBC in early February. Like the men’s team, the women will conclude the regular season February 6 at home against the Thunderbirds, in a game that could carry significant playoff implications.

The women’s schedule features nine home games and 11 road contests.
