Music lovers can also enjoy the return of Music in the Park at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park, where free live performances will be held on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.

Pavilion nights, running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., are scheduled for July 9, July 30, Aug. 6, and Aug. 20. The July 9 lineup includes performances by the Khast’an Drummers, Trina Chivilo, and Fraser Lyric Opera.

Larger concert nights at the bandshell will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 23 and Sept. 3. The July 23 show will feature Corbin Spensley, Dana Sipos, and Bu Von Blume.

The city’s final FIFA World Cup-themed celebration, Watch Party in the Plaza, is set for July 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Canada Games Plaza. The event will give soccer fans an opportunity to watch the World Cup final while enjoying food trucks and the container market.

Following the match, attendees can take part in cultural celebrations hosted by the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society before the city debuts its first-ever drone show, expected to begin around 10 p.m.

Another popular community event, Movie in the Park, will return for its second year on Sept. 11. The free outdoor screening will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m., or at dusk, with residents encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. The city says details on the movie selection and location will be announced later this summer.

Families with young children can also take part in the Kids in PG Parks Passport program, which encourages outdoor exploration of local parks through July 31. Participants are asked to visit featured parks and answer questions about each location.

The first 50 children who return completed passports will receive a free child admission to the Canfor Leisure Pool. All completed passports will also be entered into a prize draw featuring donations from organizations including the British Columbia Northern Exhibition, Koops Bike Shop, The Exploration Place, OVERhang, Prince George Family Y, Strike Zone, Engage Sport North, and UNBC Athletics.
