Jul 17, 2026 | 11:38 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — Motorists travelling through Prince George are being advised to expect delays after a logging truck became stranded on the median near the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 97.

The incident occurred just past the busy junction and has resulted in the closure of one lane in each direction on Highway 97 as crews assess the situation and work to clear the scene.

The logging truck appears to have left the roadway and come to rest on the median separating northbound and southbound traffic. The crash also appears to have brought down a utility pole located near the highway, creating additional concerns for responding crews.

Visible damage can be seen on the truck, although the extent of the damage and whether any injuries were sustained has not been confirmed.

Traffic continues to move through the area, but motorists should be prepared for congestion and reduced speeds while emergency personnel and recovery crews remain on scene.

Drivers are asked to use caution when approaching the area, obey traffic control personnel, and allow extra travel time if heading through the Highway 16 and Highway 97 corridor.

More information is expected to be released as the situation develops and cleanup efforts continue.
