Dan McLaren announces he will run for council
PRINCE GEORGE — Long-time Prince George businessman Dan McLaren is making taxation, public safety and economic development the cornerstones of his campaign for city council, arguing that residents need financial relief and stronger action to address issues affecting the community.
McLaren officially launched his campaign before a crowd that included current and former civic leaders, members of the business community and supporters who gathered to hear his vision for Prince George ahead of the municipal election on October 17.
Campaigning under the slogan “A Great City Doesn’t Have to Cost More,” McLaren said residents are feeling the impact of rising costs and mounting financial pressures, and he believes city hall must do more to ease the burden on taxpayers.
“I say that the taxpayers in Prince George need a break,” McLaren told supporters. “To this end, I’m calling for a two-year relief on tax increases in the City of Prince George.”
