It removes valuable police resources from this investigation as well as the regular calls for service if RCMP must station police officers at every access point to Foothills Boulevard to keep the curious onlookers away, of which there have already been too many. Foothills Boulevard has been closed to vehicle traffic in both directions and will remain that way overnight and into Friday; drivers should make plans to use alternate routes in the meantime.

The Transportation Safety Board will be assuming conduct of this investigation.

BC Emergency Health Services has also released a statement on the incident:

“BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 2:26 p.m. today (August 20, 2026) about an incident involving an aircraft at North Nechako Road and Foothills Boulevard in Prince George. Two ambulances with primary care paramedics, two link and referral units, a paramedic supervisor, and an area manager responded to the scene. Paramedics assessed a total of 10 patients, including two patients who were transported to hospital in stable condition,”  said BCEHS paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites.”

EARLIER: An airplane has landed on Foothills Blvd. in Prince George

A turbo-prop dual engine aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air 200, appears to have made an emergency landing on Foothills Blvd. at around 2:30pm Thursday. Emergency crews are currently on the scene. Drivers should avoid the area at this time. Witnesses report that the plane collided with two vehicles.

In a statement, Prince George Fire Rescue says they “are currently responding to a serious motor vehicle incident involving a plane on Foothills Boulevard at Highland Drive.” 

All residents are asked to avoid the area as the road will be closed for several hours.

The registration of the of the downed aircraft is C-GEDV, and according to registration information, is owned by Sekani Air Ltd. Information pulled from FlightRadar 24 showed that the aircraft took off from Prince George Airport at around 11am Thursday morning, flew north to the Kemess Creek area and was headed back to Prince George in the early afternoon.

No word on any injuries, how many occupants were in the aircraft or if there were any injuries on the ground. CKPG News in on the scene and will have more information as it comes.
