PRINCE GEORGE — Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Leader of the Conservative Party of B.C., announced the appointment of Kiel Giddens, MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie, as Shadow Minister for Economic Development.

Giddens assumes the portfolio from Gavin Dew following MLA Gavin Dew’s transition to Shadow Minister for Finance.

In addition to leading Economic Development, Giddens will retain his current responsibilities as Shadow Minister for Labour.

“Kiel brings proven leadership and a strong understanding of the economic opportunities and challenges facing British Columbia,” said Findlay.

“Holding both the Economic and Labour portfolios, he will play a vital role in advancing our vision to grow our economy, support working families, and restore prosperity across the province.”

“It is an honour to take on the role of Shadow Minister for Economic Development at such a pivotal time for British Columbia,” said Giddens.

“Economic opportunity and strong support for workers go hand-in-hand. I look forward to bringing a strong voice for northern and regional economies to this portfolio, holding the NDP government to account, and championing policies that attract investment and get B.C. moving forward again.”
