Prince George Cougars set to open 2026 training camp

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars are preparing for another Western Hockey League season, with the club announcing its rosters and schedule for the 2026 training camp.
The camp will feature five teams named after former NHL players and Cougars alumni: Team Mason, Team Connolly, Team Harkins, Team Byfuglien and Team Chara. More than 70 players, including returning veterans, prospects and invitees, will take part as they compete for positions heading into the 2026-27 season.
On-ice activities begin Thursday, August 27, with testing and practices, followed by a Prospects Showcase game at 6 p.m. between Team Pogge and Team Souray.
The main camp schedule gets underway Friday, August 28, with four games scheduled throughout the day. Action continues Saturday with another four games before wrapping up Sunday with a pair of preliminary contests and the annual Rob Charney Cup intra-squad game at 6 p.m., featuring Team Brewer against Team Hamhuis.
