His campaign is built around three main priorities. The first is creating a safer and cleaner Prince George through coordinated efforts to improve safety in neighbourhoods and the downtown core. Pears also wants to support economic growth by working with businesses, city staff and community partners to attract investment and encourage job creation.

A third priority is responsible spending. Pears says he wants to ensure taxpayers receive value for money while maintaining the services and infrastructure residents depend on.

“Residents deserve a council that listens, respects every tax dollar and stays focused on public safety, reliable services and a strong local economy,” he said.

Pears and his wife, Dori, have been married for 27 years and raised their two sons, Lucas and Noah, in Prince George. Since retiring, he has taken up beekeeping while remaining active in the community.

As the campaign gets underway, Pears says he plans to meet with residents, community groups and local businesses to hear their concerns and ideas for the city’s future.
