Toronto FC roars back with two stoppage-time goals to stun CF Montreal 2-1
TORONTO — Lewis Morgan and Djordje Mihailovic came off the bench to score in second-half stoppage time as Toronto FC roared back late to pick up a 2-1 victory over CF Montreal on Saturday.
Morgan converted a Niklas Dorsch cross in the third extra minute before Mihailovic redirected a pass from Theo Corbeanu two minutes later to complete the comeback for Toronto (7-10-11).
Daniel Rios scored a rebound goal early in the second half that pushed Montreal (6-16-6) in front in the latest edition of the 401 Derby. After midfielder Matty Longstaff was stopped, Rios knocked in his sixth goal of the season in the 52nd minute.
Toronto halted a three-game slide and extended its unbeaten streak to five matches at BMO Field since the FIFA World Cup break.
