PRINCE GEORGE – There are two new programs being offered at the Prince George Public Library, starting Sunday for children with sensory sensitivities.

The Sensory Workshop welcomes any children on the autism spectrum, those experiencing grief or loss, very shy children, or any child who’s had an adverse childhood experience. The children along with their caregiver will be making personalized tools to help them engage their five senses. The tools include a glitter jar which can help children focus, read and learn by stimulating and soothing their senses.

There will also be Sensory Storytime which will offer sensory materials and repetition to help children engage in the stories and activities.

“We’ve limited registration to ensure a smaller group and we’re holding the program on Sundays when the library is quieter,” said Andra Nadeau, Youth Services.
