PRINCE GEORGE — A man found to be in possession of a stolen truck is facing jail time.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says Raymond Jarrod Pruden-Collins was charged with the following offences after he was found in possession of a stolen truck on Monday:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (2 counts)
  • Failing to comply with undertaking (2 counts)

“On Monday December 17 at approximately1:30 p.m., a member of the Prince George RCMP’s General Duty Section observed a vehicle matching the description of a recently stolen Ford F-250 truck in Prince George,” says Douglass. “The licence plate was checked and found to have been stolen.”

He says Pruden-Collins was arrested without incident on the 2100 block of Quince Street.

“He was found to be in possession of several knives of various sizes, a small quantity of heroin and drug paraphernalia. The truck was confirmed to have been stolen from Ospika Boulevard on December 16,” Douglass adds.

He says Pruden-Collins plead guilty to one count of each of the above charges in court yesterday (Dec.18) and was consequently sentenced to 87 days in jail and one-year probation.

Douglass says police have noticed a spike in stolen Ford F-series trucks in Prince George the first part of December.

He says the stolen trucks range mostly from model year 1995 to 2008 and as a result notes police have stepped up vehicle checks of Ford pickups in the city.
