Welding Sparks Deemed Cause Of Fire

An update to a story we told you about yesterday where A fire at Ali-Craft Boats shut down First Avenue in Prince George for a short time. The fire was initially reported shortly after 2:00 pm. Thick black smoke could be seen rising from the building and flames were visible when fire crews arrived. However, firefighters were able to quickly get the upper hand on the blaze. There were no serious injuries reported. The cause of the fire was due to Sparks from a welder near cardboard and a fuel tank which set off the blaze. The damage is estimated at roughly 100-thousand dollars.
