Holiday CounterAttack Wrap Up
Thirteen impaired drivers were apprehended during the Prince George RCMP’s Holiday Season CounterAttack campaign . During the month long campaign, five drivers were issued 90–day license suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days , another 5 were issued 3-day license suspensions and a 3-day vehicle impoundment, and three were charged for having open liquor in their vehicles. Drivers were also pulled over for numerous violations under the BC Motor Vehicle Act: including,
112 speeding tickets, ( 37 in school zones)
12 intersection-related violations
2 seatbelt offences
2 distracted driving offences for using a handheld device (cell phone) while driving;
32 other violation tickets were issued for various moving and administrative offences.
There were no serious injury or fatal collisions in the City during the campaign.
