Updated: Fire destroys home on the weekend

A local family of five, lost their home to a fire, just two days before the New Year. But, thanks to some residents of the rural community of Pineview, the family have most of the items needed to furnish a new home.

On Saturday, December 30th around 5 pm, four volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on Castle Road. When they arrived, a mobile home was fully involved. Crews managed to keep the flames from spreading to other nearby homes.

The family was not home at the time of the fire and lost everything within the home. Some members of their community stepped up and donated all the household items needed to furnish a new home.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
