17th Annual Polar Bear Dip This Weekend

Ness Lake Bible Camp will host the 17th annual Polar Bear Dip this weekend. The event starts at 2 on January 1, and the dip will take place at 2:30. The proceeds from the dip will go to the Camper Sponsorship Fund, that helps send kids to a week of camp in the summertime. Registration is $25, but additional fundraising is encouraged. Prizes will be handed out for best costume and most money raised. Although the weather is expected to be in the -20s this weekend, it’s not scaring staff away.

“When it’s really cold like this, we have a heated gym, heated showers, cinnamon buns and hot chocolate, the water feels warmer and you dry off so fast when you come out of the water,” said NLBC Program Director, Dave Horton. “I’m hoping the weather will stay chilly like this, like -20 is gold. When it’s -5 and there’s a wind and the snow is blowing it feels awful.”
