Some quick work by members of the Prince George Fire Department helped to prevent a residential fire from getting out of hand Christmas Eve.

Fire crews from four halls were called out to a mobile home along North Nechako Road around 5 in the evening.  The owner had been trying to thaw some water lines with a propane torch when things got out of hand.  Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the home.

Crews were able to put out the fire quickly and limit the damage to about $5,000 dollars.  There were no injuries.
