Local Politicians Rate The Government
PRINCE GEORGE – “Today’s update, I’m pleased to say, shows that our plan to deliver a balanced budget and invest in the people of British Columbia is on track.”
That was Finance Minister Carole James as she summarized the quarterly report on BC’s finances.
So how do others in the politic forum assess the current government?
The momentum of our economy is still moving ahead, but as a Conservative, I’m concerned about the confidence we have in our province,” says Bob Zimmer, the MP for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies. “We’ve seen certain projects like the bridge across the Fraser River and Site C are constantly in the courts by this particular government. That cooling of confidence in our economy is concerning.”
Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond is concerned about the lack of a jobs plan or any plan to generate revenue, other than taxation.
