The Great Park Escape Gets The Go-Ahead
PRINCE GEORGE – After having to cancel the event due to wildfire smoke, the Great Park Escape at Lheidli T’Enneh Park finally took place on Saturday.
The kid-friendly, free event was put on to recognize some of the great non-for-profit organizations in the community that support children. The Prince George Hospice Society was going to host the event back in August but it was deemed unsafe due to poor air quality.
The idea was inspired by last year’s Forget the Fires In the Park event, to assist any evacuee children affected by the wildfires.
Smokeless skies over the weekend gave the event the go-ahead and families were invited to take part on September 8th from 1 until 4 pm. Children were welcomed to bring their bikes to the park for the “Best Decorated Bike Contest’ and take part in all the outdoor activities.
