Official Opening Celebrations For The Ancient Forest

PRINCE GEORGE – The beauty and biodiversity of BC’s newest Provincial Park is being celebrated on Saturday. Although the Ancient Forest has been open since 2016, members and BC Parks decided it was time to have an official opening.

Giant ancient cedar trees and a beautiful new boardwalk are only a few of the reason to visit the Ancient Forest. On Saturday the park will be filled with local musicians, artists and storytellers to show off the biodiversity and magic it has to offer.

Back in October new boardwalks were put in to make getting around the park easier for everyone. Engage Sport North wanted to take it one step further by making this whole event more accessible for people who may not have a car or need priority parking. They organized free shuttle buses to transport people to and from the event for both Prince George and McBride.

Two shuttles will be leaving from the CN Centre at 8:45 am and 11:15 and the McBride service will leave the village parking lot at 9 am. Although the rides are free, a seat on the bus must be booked in advance. Each shuttle will seat 15 people plus 2 extra spots reserved for wheelchairs or scooters.
