Relay for Life 2019 raises $325,000

PRINCE GEORGE–The 27th Annual Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life came and went this weekend at Exhibition Park.

The 24 hour relay consisted of participants walking around a track and even staying the night in a tent as music, games, food and speeches filled the night.

The Luminary Ceremony was one of the highlights of the night, with around 2,000 people in attendance. The small paper bags with written messages scribbled on them remembering those who fought and continue to fight the battle against cancer were layed around the outside of the track.

$325,000 were raised and more donations are expected to continue towards the summer.

An estimated 4,000 people came out to the event and Cassie says that she thinks numbers will continue to grow in the years to come.
