Four arrests lead to court appearances

PRINCE GEORGE — Four people police believe are involved in local property crime are in court today (June 13) in Prince George.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says they were arrested last night (June 12) and this morning (June 13).

He says the first arrest occurred last night near a home near 1st Avenue and Claxton Crescent at around 7:15 p.m.

“During the investigation, an adult male was found hiding from police and provided a fake name,” says Douglass. “He was arrested for obstruction and found to be in possession of a forged cheque, as well as a stolen wallet, credit cards and a passport from a break and enter that occurred late last month in Prince George.”

He says 26-year-old John Peregoodoff of Prince George and formerly of Dease Lake, is facing the following charges:

Peregoodoff is due in court today.

In another case, just after midnight this morning, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Upland Street. Police say a number of items had been taken from the unlocked vehicle.

About 30 minutes after receiving the report, police pulled over an occupied vehicle on Tamarack Street, which an officer observed obtained items stolen from the vehicle on Upland Street.

All three occupants were arrested for possession of stolen property and over $700 worth of stolen items were recovered.

Twenty-two year old Prince George resident Dallas Isaac John and 26-year-old Brandon Michael Felix of Prince George are facing charges of possession of stolen property under $5000. Felix is also facing a charge of failure to comply with an undertaking. John and Felix will appear in court today.

Douglass says 50-year-old Williams Ernest Parent was also arrested, at around 4:15 a.m. this morning on Northwood Pulpmill Road for breaching a curfew condition of a probation order from last fall.

He was arrested and found to have a hammer hidden up his sleeve, which was a further breach of his probation order.

Parent is now facing two counts of failure to comply with probation and possession of break-in instruments.

He will appear in court later today.

Douglass says all suspects are well known to police.
