Wildfires over weekend

Two wildfires of significance broke out over the weekend

PRINCE GEORGE–Over the weekend two significant wildfires broke out in the Prince George Fire Centre area.

One near Telachick off of Highway 16, which was human caused and a second south-east of Fort Nelson sparked by lightening.

“BC Wildfire Service were on scene and are still on scene and they’re making great progress.”–Molly Blower, Information Officer for the Prince George Fire Centre

Currently the Telachick fire is considered held, both fires are doing well with crews still working to fight the flames, and decent weather to help contain them.

As of this year there have been 86 fires in the Prince George Fire Centre compared to last years 98.
