Improved highway maintenance contracts for the Cariboo

QUESNEL–Service areas 17 and 18 in the Cariboo have been awarded new maintenance contracts which will help improve standards and better highway conditions, year round.

Contracts for both Service Areas 17 and 18, have a 10-year term with an optional fiver-year extension. The new contracts which require higher standards and a more proactive approach to severe weather conditions go into effect on July 1.

Service Area 17 provides maintenance on provincial roadways for several communities including Williams Lake and Bella Coola, has been awarded to Dawson Road Maintenance.

Service Area 18 includes provincial road maintenance for Quesnel, Nazko and the surrounding communities was awarded to the current contractor, Emcon Services Inc.
