Council approves SOFI report
PRINCE GEORGE – The end of June is right around the corner and that means, by law, the City must submit its Statement of Financial Information. That statement lays out remuneration for Mayor and Council, as well as exempt staff salaries for those who earned $75,000 or more in 2018. For the latter, the lay out is much different than in past years, setting out things like overtime and vacation payouts.
“When people are trying to make comparisons between positions, want to make comparisons to other municipalities, that break down helps show the whole picture a little bit better,” says Kris Dalio, Director of Finance. “So it’s about trying to provide better transparency.”
And speaking of comparisons, Councillor Terri McConnachie has asked staff to come back with a report comparing Prince George’s wages and salaries with those of comparable communities.
The SOFI report can be found here.
