Mounties recover stolen property near the Blackwater Road

PRINCE GEORGE — Mounties are thanking social media for allowing them to recover some stolen property over the weekend.

Police say an RCMP member was monitoring social media on Sunday when he came across a post about a suspicious camp next to Shesta Lake, off the Blackwater Road.

The officer recognized the vehicle in the photos as being reported stolen.

He then went to the vacant camp where he was able to confirm the Ford pick-up was stolen from Clear Lake Road on June 30.

The officer also located a stolen tent trailer at the camp which was stolen from Quaw Avenue on June 16.
