PRINCE GEORGE–Two kittens and 7 adult cats were found trapped in storage bins on a vacant property in Prince George.

The North Cariboo District SPCA received a call from the property manager who says they heard the cats meowing from the inside of the bins. The cats, ranging from kittens to adults were trapped in storage bins with no food, water, breathing through holes poked through the lid.

Although the cats were emaciated, they are expected to live, with North District SPCA Manager, Alex Schare saying that despite what they’ve been through are vocal and friendly.

“These cats were starving, and matted with feces and urine. Some of the adult cats would not have lives much longer and will require a refeeding plan to slowly reintroduce their bodies to food.” –Alex Schare, Manager, North District SPCA

There is no information at this time on who left the cats to die, however, anyone with information is asked to contact the BC SPCA’s toll-free hotline at 1-855-622-7722.
