Over 5,000 BC Hydro customers without power

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: BC Hydro says power has been restored to all but 300 customers.

Those customers are located in the bowl area stretching from 15th Avenue to Vance Road.

The outages in those areas have been attributed to substation fault.

Earlier: Over 5,500 BC Hydro customers are without power this hour in Prince George.

The outage covers much of the bowl area stretching from Ferry Avenue all the way to University Way and north to Ospika Boulevard North.

The power went out at around 4:30 p.m. Crews have been assigned to the outage but no word yet on when the power will be restored.
