Charges laid in connection with northern B.C. homicide as search for suspects continues

DEASE LAKE, B.C. — Two teenagers on the run from police have been charged with 2nd degree murder.

19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky have been charged in relation to the death of Leonard Dyck from Vancouver.

Dyck was found deceased on July 19th at a highway pullout about two kilometres south of the vehicle fire off Stikine River Bridge on Highway 37.

Anyone who may have spoken to Dyck during his travels in Northern BC is asked to contact police.
