Mountain biker survives 35-foot plunge down Barkerville area gully

WELLS, B.C — A vacation to forget for a Vancouver Island man who is recovering in hospital in Prince George after he plunged 35 feet down a gully in the Barkerville area late yesterday afternoon (July 24) on his mountain bike.

Prince George Search and Rescue teamed up with Quesnel Search and Rescue to help the man.

The rope rescue took approximately two hours after the mountain biker went off the road.

The man suffered undetermined injuries though PG search and rescue say things could have ended up a lot worse.
