PRINCE GEORGE— Countless pool games have been played at Nicholson Billiards. It was a regular hang-out spot for many people in Prince George, and it’s bittersweet for the regulars to see it shut down.

Owner Dan Hoffman is closing Nicholson Billiards after over 20 years of operation. He wasn’t much of a pool player before moving to Prince George, and first opened Nicholson Billiards as a way to make a living. It quickly became more than just a job to him.

“I was not a pool player before, but now I feel like I’m really part of the pool playing community and the Prince George community in a larger sense,” Hoffman says.

Even with Nicholson Billiards shutting down, the pool community will continue to be strong in Prince George. Hoffman will just be semi-retired and will still do pool table repairs in Northern BC.
