According to a study by the Fraser Institute the tax bill of the average Canadian family has increased by a whopping 2,200 percent since 1961. With the average Canadian family now spending more of its income taxes than it does on basic necessities.

Program for kids with learning disabilities spurred on by local mom, and son with autism

A Prince George woman and her son with autism were the instigators to a program aimed at helping kids with learning disabilities improve their literacy skills. The program was launched last week and allows kids with autism and other disabilities to read to the cats at the PG Humane Society.

100 new affordable housing units for Prince George

Goodbye NR Motors–hello BC Housing. BC Housing will oversee construction of 100 units of supportive and affordable housing at the NR Motors location. The project is unique with Northern Health providing primary care, harm reduction and specialized mental health and substance-use services.

A soggy July for Prince George

July was a soggy and wet month, but not wet enough to break any records. Environment Canada says there was 85 millimetres of rain last month, 37 percent more than the usual. The weather is supposed to straighten out starting this weekend, with warmer weather predicted for August.
