Trio of Prince George’s best recognized

PRINCE GEORGE — Chuck Chin, Albert Koehler, and Noreen Rustad have been named 2019 Citizens of the Year. The award is given to Prince George residents who go above and beyond in the community.

For Chin, his photography and presence at local events has earned him the distinction.

Koehler was instrumental at bringing an engineering program to UNBC, and volunteered at numerous committees throughout his time in the city, but says this award is more of a reflection of teamwork.

Rustad, who first moved to the city over 70 years ago, was one of the founding members of the PG Community Foundation and has been a mainstay on various volunteer boards over the years.

That is echoed by Mayor Lyn Hall who added volunteerism is spread throughout the city in large part to the work done by the annually honoured citizens. Citizen of the Year awards started being presented in 1997.
