Decisions, Decisions: Cougars lock in 20-year-olds, still debating goalie situation

Big roster decisions will have to be made by the Cougars ahead of their season opener next Friday, and how players perform in their final two preseason games this week will be huge. Among the decisions to make is who’s their back-up goalie and which three 20-year-old players are they taking into the season. The Cats finalized the latter recently by releasing Cam MacPhee and committing to their veterans. Lamb’s next big decision is choosing a back-up goalie behind starter Taylor Gauthier. The choice is between last season’s back-up Isaiah DiLaura and last year’s first-round bantam draft pick Tyler Brennan. Manitoba’s Brennan turns 16 this month and is eligible to take the 19-year-old DiLaura’s spot. Lamb says it’ll come down to their final games this week.
