Local survivor to lead 3rd PG Multiple Myeloma March

Prince George — Multiple Myeloma is a little-known form of cancer of the plasma cells. Every day, eight Canadians are diagnosed with the presently incurable disease. Myeloma Canada has held Multiple Myeloma Marches for 11 years and is holding 28 in 2019. This year is the third for Prince George and will be lead by an 11-year local survivor.
Eva Patten’s diagnosis took over a year to confirm and once it was, she was told she had a year at most left to live. It was an emotional time for the then 41-year-old mother of two. Through perseverance and a new treatment plan, she has defied the odds for over a decade. Nowadays Eva spends her time living life to the fullest, especially with her family.
The five-kilometre march will be at the Otway Nordic Ski Centre starting 9am, on Saturday, September 14. Prince George’s fundraising goal is 10-thousand dollars.
