Victoria to announce help for laid off forestry workers Tuesday

PRINCE GEORGE — Help is on the way for laid off forestry workers.

The provincial government will be making an announcement tomorrow (Sept.17) morning at 10 a.m. at the CN railyards on River Road.

Forests Minister Doug Donaldson, Labour Minister Harry Bains and Parliamentary Secretary Ravi Kahlon will all be in attendance.

Thousands of jobs have been lost in the sector, including many in B.C.’s Central Interior, since the industry downturn began.
