Nadleh Whut’enne – Today is a day of celebration for the First Nation community of Nadleh Whut’en, located near the shores of Fraser Lake. This afternoon community members are welcoming back two artifacts that left their community almost 100 years ago.

The celebration is a long time in the waiting. A Bear Clan Blanket and Drum, both were in storage in a museum located in Ottawa.

In 1924 Thomas Cho a member of the community donated the artifacts to preserve them for future generations. During his time the use of the artifacts was outlawed.

There are still close to 30 objects in the Canadian Museum of History that were collected in Nadleh Whut’en traditional territory.
