Cousins’ four-point night sinks Rivermen

The Prince George Spruce Kings and Langley Rivermen collided at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena again Saturday night and fans in attendance got their money’s worth.

The teams would go back and forth throughout the night, combine for 9 goals, and also included a pair of fights.

The major story of the game though was Kolton Cousins.

One of the newest Spruce King not only scored his first goal with the club but found the back of the net three times and added an assist to help vault the Kings to a 6-3 win over the Rivermen.

“It was good to get the monkey off my back,” shared Cousins post-game.

“They’re our division rivals so that was huge to get a couple of points off them. Hopefully, we can build off this and have a good week coming up.”

Corey Cunningham, Ryan McAllister, and Evan Orr also found the back of the net in the win for the Kings.

The Spruce Kings now sit with an 8-9-2-1 record on the year and sit 3rd in the Mainland Division.

They will be back on the ice this week when they head down to the lower mainland for three crucial games against division rivals.

The Spruce Kings open the road trip Wednesday in Coquitlam against the Express. They will then meet the Surrey Eagles Friday and Chilliwack Chiefs on Saturday.
