Vanderhoof Airport Grows
VANDERHOOF – The sky’s the limit for the Vanderhoof Airport. It has recently won the Airport of the Year award from the BC Aviation Council.
And while that is a feather in the Airport Development Society’s hat, it means far more than that. The improvements have made it much easier to provide medivac services to the community. But the Society would like to take that designation even further.
“We want to be the Vanderhoof Regional Airport and we’ve also been talking to the Regional District, who has recognized the fact that not only do the residents of Vanderhoof benefit from the airport, but the whole Regional District does,” says Dr. Paul Collard, President of the Vanderhoof Airport Development Society.
He says physicians in Fort St. James have also recognized the importance of the Vanderhoof airport for getting patients to the medical attention they need. He says the airport has expanded and hopes to see that growth continue.
