BC Silver Alert program plans to help locate seniors
Prince George – When a person with dementia goes missing and depending on the severity of their disease they will have a difficult time navigating back home.
Sam Noh’s father had dementia and went missing several years ago. He’s calling on the government to implement the Silver Alert program to help find missing seniors.
Lower mainland resident Sam Noh is one of the founders of BC Silver Alert. His father who had Alzheimer’s went missing in September 2013.
He was the subject of a large search and never found. Just like the Amber alert program. The BC Silver Alert goal is to provide an alerting system so that specific, targeted alerts can assist first responders to locate missing people who experience memory and other cognitive deficits.
